Knowing, with absolute accuracy, whether or not a piece of music is PD — Public Domain — could lead you to CREATIVE ACCOLADES AND BOTTOM-LINE GLORY!!

That’s right — when a piece of music is in the public domain, it means you can use it for FREE, the cost of usage is $0!!! And that's because it is in the public domain, so no person, company or corporation owns the copyright. There's no one for you to pay!

But, guess wrong about PD and you've got legal problems that could cost you, your company and your client a lot of money! Owning one or both of our music reference books that list songs that are in the Public Domain in the United States eliminates the problem.

The reference books are the recently published They Never Renewed: Songs You Never Dreamed Were in the Public Domain (96 titles of 50s & 60s popular songs that are in the Public Domain because their copyrights were not properly renewed — a unique book!), and The Mini-Encyclopedia of Public Domain Songs, our classic reference book, first published in 1993.

They Never Renewed is a listing of 96 popular songs from the 50s & 60s, titles that made the Billboard pop charts. They are in the Public Domain because their copyrights were not properly renewed — and you get the benefit of those mistakes. You are free to use these songs without permission and without payment to anyone.

The Mini-Encyclopedia is a listing of 800 well-loved and well-known songs that are in the Public Domain because their copyrights have expired.

And these two books are more than reference guides — they are great idea starters!! Stuck for an idea? Just riffle through their pages, and more times than not, an idea is triggered. These books have started many a creative on the road to an award-winning concept.

When you’re doing creative work, you need to know FAST what you can or can't do — what you can or can’t use, whether in a corporate or agency setting, or when you're working on a film, video production, website, or any media project!

Wouldn’t it be great to have two handy reference guides right at your desk that would give you ideas, and the facts, and give them to you fast and accurately? Two listings you can absolutely rely on and completely trust? The Mini-Encyclopedia of Public Domain Songs and They Never Renewed have both been checked, re-checked and QUADRUPLE-checked by experts — against every reliable source there is, including the U.S. Copyright Office.
